Iphone Restore Mode Problem

The Restore Mode problem is all too common with iphones. How do I  get into restore mode? How do I get out of Restore Mode?
We have the answers to all these difficult and frustrating IOS 5 software issues for all versions including 4s, ipad and ipad 2.
Ere are the typical things people do before coming to us:
Obvious fixes first by pointing the detect hardware wizard to the following folder C:\program files\common files\apple\mobile device support\drivers

Also re-installed iTunes, ran a reg cleaner to get rid of any unwanted files and then re-installed iTunes a second time.
